Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 175 g Sugar
  • 175 g Flour
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 TABLESPOON Cocoa powder
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 1/2 orange
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Orange liqueur
  • 1 TEASPOON Icing sugar and granulated sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Peppermint leaves
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

  1. 1

Separate eggs. Cream egg yolk, 6 tablespoons of cold water and half of the sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer (about 8 minutes). Beat the egg white and the remaining sugar until stiff.

  2. 2

Stir flour, baking powder and oil in several portions into the whipped egg yolk. Then gradually fold in the egg white. Divide the dough into two portions and stir the cocoa into one half.

  3. 3

Place dough alternately with a tablespoon always in the middle (on the same spot) in a greased box form (26 cm length/ 1.5 litre capacity) and bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 45 minutes.

  4. 4

Leave the cake to cool slightly on a cake rack, remove from the mould and prick several times with a wooden stick. Mix orange juice and liqueur and sprinkle the cake with it. Then sprinkle with icing and decorating sugar.

  5. 5

Arrange on a plate and decorate as desired with peppermint leaves. Makes about 12 pieces.
