Ingredients

  • 400 g Chicken filet
  • 1 Onion
  • 100 g Mung bean sprouts
  • 100 g Mushrooms
  • 125 g Carrots
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 75 g frozen peas
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp freshly ground white pepper
  • 7 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce
  • 1 package (450 g, 6 slices) frozen puff pastry
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 1 TABLESPOON Whipped cream
  • 75 g Sesame
  • 60 g Breadcrumbs
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Mint leaves

Directions

    Wash the meat, dab dry and cut fine strips. Peel and chop the onion. Clean, wash and drain the sprouts. Wash, clean and thinly slice the mushrooms.

    Clean and wash the carrots and cut them into fine sticks. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the meat in it while turning. Add onion, mushrooms, carrots, sprouts and peas and fry for 3-4 minutes over medium heat.

    Season with salt, pepper and 1-2 tablespoons soy sauce. In the meantime, place the puff pastry slices next to each other and let them thaw at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Separate the egg. Whisk egg yolk and cream.

    Beat the egg white with a fork. Halve the puff pastry slices. Roll out one halved pastry sheet each on a well floured work surface sprinkled with 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds (14x11 cm) and sprinkle with approx. 1 teaspoon of breadcrumbs.

    Add approx. 2 tablespoons of filling. Spread the edges of the dough with egg white. Carefully fold down the sides and roll up from the narrow side. Repeat the process for each pastry sheet. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper (seam facing downwards) and bake in a preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 20 minutes.

    About 4 minutes before the end of the baking time, brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds. Add the rest of the soy sauce extra and serve garnished with mint to taste. Sweet and sour Asian sauce tastes great with it.
