Clean the cabbage, quarter it and cut out the stalk. Cut cabbage into strips, wash and drain. Peel and wash the carrots and cut them into sticks. Put carrots and cabbage in a large bowl. Add hot broth, vinegar and caraway and knead everything thoroughly.
Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Cut ham into fine strips, fold in carefully and put everything in a cool place for several hours. Just before serving, wash the chives, dab dry and cut into small rolls. Sprinkle salad with chives
