Savoy stew with meatballs

Ingredients

  • 3 Onions
  • 1 (approx. 750 g) cabbage
  • 600 g Potatoes
  • 300 g Carrots
  • 250 g mixed minced meat
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 1/2 l Vegetable broth (instant)
  • 1 TEASPOON Caraway seeds

Directions

    Peel the onions. Dice 1 onion, cut remaining onions into rings. Clean, wash and cut the savoy cabbage into strips. Peel and wash the potatoes and cut them into large pieces. Peel and slice carrots. Mix minced meat, diced onion, breadcrumbs and egg. Season with salt and pepper.

    Form small dumplings out of the minced mass. Fry the dumplings in hot oil for 3-5 minutes and remove. Fry the onion rings in it. Add savoy cabbage, potatoes and carrots, fry and deglaze with broth. Bring to the boil, add caraway and cook for about 20 minutes. Shortly before the end of the cooking time add minced meatballs. Season to taste with salt and pepper
