Meatloaf with basil blue cheese and tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 Bread rolls from the previous day
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Pot of basil
  • 100 g Blue cheese
  • 1 kg mixed minced meat
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 TEASPOON medium hot mustard
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 7-10 Tbsp Basil

Directions

    Soak the rolls in cold water. Wash, quarter, seed and dice the tomatoes. Peel and finely dice onions. Wash basil, dab dry and pluck the leaves from the stems. Dice the cheese.

    Knead minced meat, squeezed out bread roll, eggs, mustard, onions, salt and pepper. Knead 3/4 of the tomato cubes, cheese and basil into the minced dough. Pour the minced dough into a greased box form (25 cm long, 11 cm wide and 7 cm deep) and bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 175°C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 1 3/4 hours. Remove the meat loaf from the tin, arrange it on a plate, serve with the remaining tomato cubes and garnished with basil leaves as desired
