Berlin steak cuts with apple

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 4 discs brown bread
  • 4-5 Stem(s) Marjoram
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Apples (e.g. Elstar)
  • 4 Hoof or beef steaks (approx. 200 g each)
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sea salt and pepper
  • 2 TABLESPOONS soft butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp Aluminium foil

Directions

    Toast slices of bread until golden brown. Wash the marjoram, shake dry and pluck off the leaves. Peel onions and cut into rings. Wash and dry the apple and cut out the core.

    Dab steaks dry and cut them in half crosswise. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in portions in a large frying pan. Fry the steaks in it in 2 portions on each side for about 2 minutes medium. Season with salt and pepper and remove.

    Wrap in aluminium foil and leave to rest.

    Cut apple into 8 slices. Fry in hot frying fat for about 1 minute on each side. Season with a little pepper and take out. Heat 1 tbsp. oil in the frying fat, fry the onions in it for 2-3 minutes until brown.

    In the meantime spread the breads with butter. Arrange 2 steaks and an apple on each. Spread onions on top, sprinkle with marjoram.
