Delicious with Pulled Pork: Fruity Indian chutney or rather spicy Argentinean chimichurri - if you can't decide, just try all five in a row! Here is the recipe for the BBQ sauce (number 2 on the recipe picture) PS: They also taste great as dips with vegetable sticks, bread or nachos.

Ingredients

Servings: 8
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 1 TABLESPOON Tomato paste
  • 1 can(s) (à 850 ml) Tomatoes
  • 100 ml Maple syrup
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Whiskey
  • 1-2 TEASPOONS Pimentón de la Vera (smoked paprika powder)
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper

Directions

    Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onion. Add tomato paste and sauté briefly. Deglaze with tomatoes.

    Stir in maple syrup and whiskey. Season with paprika. Simmer at medium heat for about 30 minutes, chopping tomatoes. Season sauce with salt and pepper.

    TIP: If the sauce is used for Pulled Pork, you can fold it in portions when you pluck the roast.
