Baked chicory in tomato sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 Spring onions
  • 4 pistons Chicory (ca. 150 g)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 100 g diced lean ham
  • 1 package (500 g) chunky tomatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 1 TEASPOON Sugar
  • 100 g Gouda cheese
  • 100 g Cottage cheese (0,8 % fat)

Directions

    Clean, wash and cut the spring onion into rings. Clean and wash the chicory, cut in half lengthwise and cut out the stalk. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté the chicory halves for about 2 minutes while turning. Season with salt. Remove the chicory

    Briefly fry the diced ham in the frying fat and take out 2 tbsp. to sprinkle. Fry the spring onion rings in the ham pan for about 2 minutes, except for a little bit for sprinkling. Add tomatoes, bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar

    Roughly grate Gouda. Mix cottage cheese and Gouda. Pour tomato sauce into a flat casserole dish. Place chicory halves in the sauce and spread cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/ convection oven: 200 °C/ gas: level 4) for 10-15 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining spring onions and diced ham
