There are enough apples at the moment. Instead of baking with the sweet fruit, try our recipe for apple-horseradish salad with horseradish, a classic from the South German kitchen.

Ingredients

Servings: 8
  • 2 green, yellow and red peppers
  • 3 red onions
  • 500 g Tomatoes
  • 2 green apples (e.g. Granny Smith)
  • 1 piece (approx. 10 cm) Horseradish
  • 1 collar Chives
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Cider vinegar
  • 3 TABLESPOONS liquid honey
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt and pepper
  • 8 TABLESPOONS Olive oil

Directions

    Clean, wash and finely dice the peppers. Peel and finely dice the onions. Wash, quarter, seed and finely dice the tomatoes. Wash, core and finely dice apples. Peel and finely grate horseradish. Wash chives and cut into fine rolls.

    Whisk vinegar and honey. Season with salt and pepper. Embezzle oil. Mix the prepared salad ingredients and vinaigrette and leave to stand briefly. Pretzels go well with it.
