Walnut ice cream with red wine pears

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 400 ml Red wine
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Pears (about 200 g each)
  • 2 TEASPOONS Cornstarch
  • 4 balls of walnut ice cream (approx. 50 g each)
  • 7-10 Tbsp roughly chopped walnuts
  • 7-10 Tbsp Lemon balm

Directions

    Put wine, lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon stick into a pot and bring to the boil while stirring occasionally. In the meantime peel and quarter the pears. Do not remove the stalk. Cut out the core. Cut the pear quarters several times. Put the pears into the red wine and cook them at low heat for 10-15 minutes until soft.

    Remove and put aside. Mix starch with approx. 4 tablespoons of water. Thicken red wine sauce with starch and bring to the boil again. Arrange ice cream scoops, pears and sauce on plates. Sprinkle with walnuts and serve decorated with lemon balm
