1⁄4 l Water with orange peel, cloves and cinnamon stick in a pot slowly bring to the boil. Simmer at low heat for about 15 minutes. Turn off the stove and let it simmer for another 15 minutes. Pour through a sieve into a second pot.
Boil up red wine, spiced water and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Simmer at medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add aquavit or vodka. Add almonds. Simmer Glögg for about 5 more minutes. If necessary, sweeten and serve hot.
If you like it typically Swedish, add raisins.
