Saté skewers with peanut sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 4-5 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 500 g thin escalopes of pork
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Peanut cream (glass)
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce
  • 1/4-1/2 Tsp Sambal Oelek, salt
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Peanut kernels
  • 24 wooden skewers

Directions

    Soak wooden skewers in cold water for about 1 hour. Peel and chop the garlic. Mix 1/3 garlic and 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice. If necessary, beat meat flat and cut lengthwise into approx. 24 strips (approx. 2 cm wide). Wave the meat onto the skewers and sprinkle with the marinade. Cover and leave to stand for approx. 30 minutes.

    Peel and chop the onion. Fry with the rest of the garlic in 2 tbsp. of hot oil. Melt the peanut cream while stirring. Add a good 1/4 l water and stir until a smooth sauce is obtained. Season to taste with soy sauce, sambal oelek, 1 tbsp lemon juice and salt if necessary. Chop the peanuts and sprinkle over them

    Dab meat skewers dry. Fry in 2 tablespoons of hot oil for 2-3 minutes. Salt lightly. Serve with the peanut sauce
