A fixed idea from ready-made dough: place Alla Margherita on a plate, roll up into snails and simply bake in the heart waffle iron for three minutes. There is still time for a side salad and the delicious pesto dressing

Ingredients

Servings: 6
  • 400 g cherry tomatoes
  • 100 g Arugula
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 TABLESPOONS green pesto
  • 4 TABLESPOONS White wine vinegar
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper, sugar
  • 1 pck (400 g each) Pizza dough (cooling shelf; e.g. Aunt Fanny)
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 125 g Mozzarella
  • 7-10 Tbsp Oil

Directions

  1. 1

For the salad, wash and halve the tomatoes. Clean, wash and shake dry the arugula. Peel and halve the onion and cut into fine slices. Mix with tomatoes and rocket salad. Mix pesto and vinegar. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar.

  2. 2

For the waffles, unroll the pizza dough and remove from the paper. Spread with tomato paste. Grate or finely chop the cheese and sprinkle on top. Roll up the dough from the long side and cut it into snails about 2 cm wide.

  3. 3

Heat a heart waffle iron and brush it thoroughly with oil. Bake a total of 6 large wafers, but spread 3 pizza snails in the waffle iron. Close the waffle iron and bake the pizza waffles in it for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Keep warm in a hot oven (electric cooker: 80 °C/circulating air: 60 °C/gas: see manufacturer) until all the snails are baked. Serve with salad and pesto dressing.
