Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 Carrots
  • 200 g cooked ham
  • 300 g short macaroni
  • 300 g frozen peas
  • 40 g Butter
  • 2 TEASPOONS Flour
  • 300 ml beefy broth
  • 150 ml Cream (reduced fat)
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper, nutmeg
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 1 lemon
  • 60 g Grated cheese

Directions

  1. 1

Peel the carrots and cut into small cubes. Cut the ham into small cubes as well.

  2. 2

Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes, then add the peas and carrot cubes and cook for 3 minutes. Pour off the pasta water. Rinse the pasta and vegetable mixture in cold water and put it in a casserole dish with the diced ham.

  3. 3

Preheat the oven to 225° (fan oven 200°). Froth the butter in a saucepan and then stir in the flour. Gradually add first the stock and then the cream until you have a creamy sauce.

  4. 4

Season the sauce with salt, pepper, nutmeg and lemon juice and then pour over the pasta mixture and sprinkle with the cheese. Put the gratin in the oven and bake for about 35 minutes.
