Lilac Berry and Apple Shower

Ingredients

  • 4 kg Lilac Berries
  • 1 kg Apples
  • 1 kg Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Mineral water or sparkling wine

Directions

    Sort the lilac berries, remove the stalks. Wash and drain the berries. Put them into a pot and mash them with a masher. Add 3/4 litres of water. Peel, quarter and core apples.

    Cut the pulp into small pieces and add to the lilac berries. Cook for about 10 minutes until bubbly. Cover and let simmer for about 30 minutes with the stove turned off. Place the fruit pulp on a large sieve lined with a gauze cloth and allow the juice to drain off.

    Bring juice and sugar to the boil. Fill into bottles, close them and let them cool down. Serve filled up with mineral water or sparkling wine.
