Kasseler steak with fried onion rings and mashed carrots

Ingredients

  • 300 g Carrots
  • 150 g mainly waxy potatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 stem(s) Parsley
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 Kassel saddle steak (100-125 g)
  • 15 g Butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper

Directions

    Peel, wash and drain the carrots and potatoes. Cut carrots into thick slices, potatoes into pieces. Cover carrots and potatoes and cook in boiling salted water for 15-20 minutes.

    Peel onion and cut into rings. Wash parsley, shake dry and chop. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the smoked pork steak for about 8 minutes while turning. Approx. 2 minutes before the end of the frying time, add the onion rings and fry with them.

    Drain the carrots and potatoes, except for about 50 ml of liquid. Add butter and mash everything roughly. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Arrange pork steak and mashed carrots on a plate. Spread the fried onions over it and sprinkle with parsley.
