Ingredients

  • 1 kg Tomatoes
  • 1 red chilli pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sweet peppers
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Vinegar
  • 1 TABLESPOON Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Cloves
  • 7-10 Tbsp Basil

Directions

    Wash the tomatoes and dab them dry. Quarter the tomatoes, remove the seeds and cut the flesh into large pieces. Wash the chilli pepper. Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onion.

    Add tomatoes with chilli pepper and simmer covered for about 30 minutes at medium heat. Season to taste with salt, pepper, paprika, vinegar, sugar, nutmeg and cloves. Let cool, arrange in small bowls and garnish with basil.
