Directions

  1. 1

Heat honey, sugar, fat and gingerbread spice while stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool down and stir in the egg. Mix flour, baking powder and cocoa. Work half of it into the honey mixture with the dough hook of the hand mixer. Knead the rest of the flour with your hands. Wrap the dough in foil and let it rest in the fridge for 30-60 minutes. Grease baking tray (38 x 32 cm) and dust with flour.

  2. 2

Roll out the dough on it. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 15-20 minutes. Cut the hot cake 1x crosswise and let it cool down. For the icing, beat 1 egg white until stiff and gradually stir in 250 g sieved icing sugar. Brush the edges of the dough (at the ridge) with icing and lean them against each other to form a roof. Let stand for at least 1 hour. Beat the remaining egg whites until stiff and stir in the remaining icing sugar, except for 2 tablespoons. Dilute the icing a little with lemon juice and add the first mixed icing. For the front and back, brush the dominoes with the icing and lay them in layers like a wall. Leave a door opening on one side. Place a piece of shortbread over the door opening to support it and continue to wall. Cut a chimney from further butter biscuits. Glue on with cast iron. Leave to set for another 1 hour.

Decorate the little house like in the photo or according to your own imagination. Glue the coloured ingredients with the icing. The door forms a halved gingerbread with yellow chocolate as door handle. Stuffed liquorice sticks as wood piles. For the fence, cut off a point from the stars, stick on alternately with colored liquorice sticks. The oblong chocolate lentils serve as paving stones. Pour the rest of the icing into a small freezer bag, cut off a small corner and use it to spray snow and icicles onto the house. When everything is dry, dust with icing sugar and fill the chimney with cotton wool
