Directions

  1. 1

Wash the tomatoes and cut into 8 slices. Wash the thyme and pluck the leaves from the stalks. Cut cheese into slices

Roast baguette slices in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/recirculating air: 200 °C/gas: level 4) for approx. 6 minutes. Turn over after approx. 3 minutes

  3. 3

Cover the baguette with tomato slices. Season with salt, pepper and thyme. Spread cheese slices on top. Bake in a hot oven at the same temperature for another 5 minutes. Serve with lamb's lettuce if desired

  4. 4

For a fine garlic note: spread baguette slices with the cut surface of a clove of garlic halved

  5. 5

The tomato bites also taste good with other cheese. If you want them to be a bit spicier, you can gratinate them with goat's cheese or ripe soft cheese with red smear. Baguette for baking is practical. You can always have it in stock
