Ingredients

  • 1 kg Brussels sprouts
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp ...with bacon:
  • 75 g streaky smoked bacon
  • 1 TABLESPOON butter, nutmeg
  • 7-10 Tbsp ...with apple:
  • 1 big apple
  • 1 TABLESPOON Butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp ... with flaked almonds:
  • 2 TABLESPOONS flaked almonds
  • 1 TABLESPOON Butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp Nutmeg
  • 7-10 Tbsp ...with peanuts & soy sauce:
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Peanut kernels (roasted and salted)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Butter
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce

Directions

    Remove the outer, wilted leaves from the ## Brussels sprouts##. Wash the sprouts. Cut the stalk straight and cut crosswise with a kitchen knife. This way the sprouts cook evenly.

    Put the Brussels sprouts in a pot, just cover with water and add about 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to the boil, cover and cook over medium heat for 15-18 minutes. Drain the sprouts.

    Finely dice the bacon and fry it crisply in the pot. Add butter and melt. Toss the cooked Brussels sprouts in the bacon. Season with nutmeg

    Wash the apple, quarter it, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Steam in melted butter for 3-4 minutes. Swivel the cooked Brussels sprouts in it

    Brussels sprouts with flaked almonds: ##Almonds## without fat golden brown roast, take out. Melt butter in a pot. Swivel the cooked Brussels sprouts in it. Season with nutmeg and sprinkle with flaked almonds.

    Brussels sprouts with peanuts & soy sauce: Roast peanuts without fat and remove. Heat butter in a pot. Fry the cooked Brussels sprouts for 2-3 minutes while turning. Add soy sauce and nuts.
