Apple Chutney

Ingredients

Servings: 5
  • 3 red onions
  • 150 Celery
  • 3-4 sour apples
  • 150 ml Cider vinegar
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Honey
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 TEASPOON Mustard seeds
  • 100 ml apple juice
  • 5-6 Stem(s) Thyme

Directions

    Peel onions and cut them into thin slices. Clean and wash the celery and cut it diagonally into thin strips. Wash apples, grate dry and cut into quarters. Remove the core. Halve the quarter again lengthwise, then cut into thin slices.

    Bring vinegar, sugar, honey, bay leaf, mustard seeds and juice to the boil. Add celery and onions and simmer for about 5 minutes. Wash the thyme and pluck off the leaves. Add apple slices and thyme and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

    Pour chutney hot into clean glasses and close them immediately.
