Ingredients

  • 125 ml Milk
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 200 g Flour
  • 1 heaped Tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 Vanilla pod
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Warm the milk lukewarm. Separate eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff when they start to become stiff, while stirring, pour in 75 g sugar. Beat the egg yolks and 75 g sugar in a mixing bowl with the whisk of the hand mixer for about 5 minutes until creamy.

    Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the pulp and add to the egg yolk. Little by little add lukewarm milk. Mix flour, baking powder and salt, sieve onto the egg mass and fold in. Fold the beaten egg white into the egg-meal mixture.

    Grease the bottom of a springform pan (26 cm Ø) and fill in the sponge mixture. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 50 minutes until golden brown. Let the cake cool down in the mould, carefully remove from the edge of the mould with a knife.
