Cut tomatoes crosswise, briefly boil water over them, peel, quarter, seed and cut into cubes. Peel onion and garlic and dice finely. Heat oil in a pan and fry both in it.
Add tomatoes, toss briefly and season with salt and pepper. Wash the basil, dab dry, put something aside for garnishing. Cut the rest into strips and add to the tomatoes. Fry the baguette slices briefly and cover with the tomato vegetables.
Arrange tomato breads with salami and olives on plates. Garnish with basil.
