Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 240 g Flour
  • 150 g Butter or margarine
  • 520 g Icing sugar
  • 2 TEASPOONS Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 10 (à 15 g) Liquorice snails
  • 10 D
  • 10 (10 g each, e.g. Kemm's cake) Brown cake
  • 5 (approx. 30 g) green and red fruit gum strings
  • 7-10 Tbsp brown and red sugar writing
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • baking paper

Directions

    Separate eggs. Put flour, fat, egg yolk, 70 g icing sugar, vanillin sugar and salt into a mixing bowl and fold in with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Then work into a smooth dough with cool hands. Cover the dough and let it rest in the fridge for about 1 hour. Form about 30 small balls from the dough and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Press slightly flat. Bake in the preheated oven (electric: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 12-15 minutes. Let them cool down. In the meantime, beat the egg whites until stiff. At the same time, allow the remaining icing sugar to trickle in. Finally, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of water. Dip each cookie individually in the icing sugar icing, drain and dry on a cake rack. In the meantime, put some icing sugar icing on the liquorice snails for each hat and place a domino on each one. Let them dry. Put some icing sugar on the flat side of 10 cookies and place one cookie with the flat side on each. Stick these double cookies onto one brown cake each. Leave to dry. Then stick a hat with a little icing on the round side of each of the remaining cookies and stick them as heads on the snowman's bodies. Leave to dry. Tie fruit gum strings around the neck as a scarf. Cut off the ends. Use the sugar writing to draw the snowmen's eyes, mouth and nose. Dust with icing sugar. Results in 10 pieces
