Peel and wash the potatoes and cook them in boiling salted water for about 18 minutes. Drain, cut into slices and place in a greased dish. Mix cream with pepper and nutmeg and pour over the potatoes.
Cover with cheese and bake in a preheated oven (electric: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 10 minutes. Remove gratin from the pan and arrange on a plate with ham. Sprinkle gratin with chopped parsley and garnish with parsley leaves.
