Poppy seed waffles with strawberry-mango ragout

Ingredients

  • 500 g Strawberries
  • 1 Mango
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 1 lemon
  • 60 g Acacia honey
  • 125 g Butter or margarine
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 2 packages Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 60 g ground poppy seed
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 250 g Schmand
  • 125 g Whipped cream
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp ground poppy seed

Directions

    Wash the strawberries, put some aside for decoration. Clean the rest and cut in half. Peel the mango, cut the flesh off the stone and dice. Mix strawberries, mango, lemon juice and honey. Put in a cool place and let it stand for 1 hour.

    For the waffle dough, mix soft fat, sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer until foamy. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour, poppy seeds and baking powder. Alternately stir in 125 g sour cream and cream. Grease and preheat the waffle iron. Place 1 1/2 tablespoon in the middle of each waffle iron and bake until golden brown. Bake about 10 waffles one after the other. Mix 125 g sour cream with 1 packet of vanilla sugar. Dust the waffles with icing sugar and divide into the individual heart segments.
