Ingredients

  • 100 g Butter or margarine
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 1 package Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor"
  • 3 TSP Baking Powder
  • 250 g Flour
  • 60 ml Milk
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp a few droplets of red food colouring
  • baking paper

Directions

    Cream fat, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer. Separate 1 egg. Add 2 eggs and 1 egg yolk one after the other and stir in. Mix pudding powder, baking powder and flour. Alternately stir in 30 ml milk. Place 6 piles of dough by the spoonful on two baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake one after the other in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 15-18 minutes.

    After 10 minutes of baking time, carefully brush the surfaces with 30 ml milk. Remove the American from the baking tray and place on a grid. Mix icing sugar, egg white and lemon juice. Halve the icing and colour one half pink with red food colouring as desired. Decorate the still warm American from the bottom with the icing. Leave to dry
