Ingredients

Servings: 25
  • 1/8 l Milk
  • 100 g Butter or margarine
  • 500 g Flour
  • 20 g Yeast
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of an untreated lemon
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 800 g Lard for frying
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

  1. 1

Warm the milk and melt the fat in it. Put flour in a bowl. Add crumbled yeast, sugar, vanillin sugar, lemon peel, egg and milk-fat mixture. Work through with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Cover and leave to rise for approx. 45 minutes in a warm place to double the size. Knead the dough again thoroughly. Cut off approx. 25 pieces with a tablespoon.

  2. 2

Form balls with floured hands. Cover and leave to rise for another 15-20 minutes. Heat up the lard. Press each ball of dough thinly apart in the middle so that a bulging edge is created. Fry until golden brown in portions. Drain on kitchen paper and serve dusted with icing sugar
