Hearty Tilsiter bread

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 bunch Chives
  • 3 TABLESPOONS White wine vinegar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp white pepper
  • 1 TEASPOON grainy hot mustard
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 160 g Thuringian red sausage
  • 4 large lettuce leaves
  • 4 discs mixed farmhouse bread
  • 20 g Butter or margarine
  • 8 discs (approx. 240 g) Tilsit cheese
  • 4 Gherkins and parsley for garnishing

Directions

    Peel onion and cut into fine rings. Wash the chives, dab dry and cut into small rolls. Mix vinegar, salt, pepper and mustard. Whip the oil into it. Add the onion and chives to the vinaigrette, except for one tablespoon. Cut red sausage into very thin slices and pour the vinaigrette over them.

    Let marinate for 10-15 minutes. In the meantime wash and drain the salad. Spread slices of bread with fat and cover with salad. Carefully roll up cheese slices and arrange on the bread with the drained sausage slices. Spread onion rings on top and sprinkle with remaining chives. Serve garnished with cucumber fan and parsley
