Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1 Sweet pepper (e.g. red)
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, black pepper
  • 250 g Pineapple (canned; e.g. baby pineapple)
  • 4 discs Wholemeal bread
  • 4 TSP pungent sour cream or sour cream
  • 12 (approx. 75 g) wafer-thin slices of smoked turkey breast
  • 4 pickled peppers
  • 6 TABLESPOONS grated Gouda cheese (e.g. medieval)

Directions

  1. 1

Clean, wash and quarter the peppers. Cook in little boiling salted water for about 3 minutes, remove. Drain the pineapple

  2. 2

Spread slices of bread with cream and cut into 3 pieces each. Put the bell peppers on 4 pieces of bread. Cover all with turkey breast and pineapple. Put 1 pepper on each of 4 pieces of bread. Sprinkle breads with cheese and pepper

  3. 3

Bake in a hot oven (electric range: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for approx. 5 minutes. Arrange 3 pieces of bread on each plate

  4. 4

Instead of turkey breast, you can also top the loaves with Kasseler cold cuts. And instead of pineapple slices, you can use peach or apricot slices, for example. If you like it even spicier, you can also stir 1 teaspoon of mustard, some curry or sweet paprika into the sour cream
