Ingredients

  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 250 g Flour
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 125 g Butter
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Protein
  • 7-10 Tbsp red and yellow food colouring
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar writing
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chocolate decoration
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • baking paper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Piping bag

Directions

    Wash the lemon and rub dry. Grate the peel. Halve lemon, squeeze juice and put aside. Put flour, sugar, vanillin sugar, salt, lemon rind, egg and butter in flakes in a bowl. Knead with the dough hook of the hand mixer. Then knead into a smooth dough with your hands on a floured work surface.

    Wrap dough in cling film and chill for approx. 30 minutes. Knead the dough once again briefly and roll out 3-4 mm thin on a floured work surface. Cut out different motifs (e.g. pumpkins, ghosts or witches). Place on three baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake the trays one after the other in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) on the middle shelf for approx. 10 minutes. Let them cool down on a grid. Pass the icing sugar through a sieve. Add egg white and mix with the whisk of the hand mixer to a thick, shiny mass. Add lemon juice bit by bit. Halve the icing. Colour one half orange with food colouring.
