Caramelized papaya milk rice

Ingredients

  • 1 Vanilla pod
  • 1⁄2 Organic Lemon
  • 1 (approx. 400 g) ripe papaya
  • 1 l low-fat milk
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 200 g Rice Pudding
  • 1 TABLESPOON Butter
  • 4 TABLESPOONS sugar (e.g. browner)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the pulp. Wash and dry the lemon hot, peel the peel spirally thin. Squeeze the lemon. Peel and halve the papaya and remove the seeds.

    Dice the pulp and sprinkle with lemon juice.

    Bring milk, vanilla pod and pulp, lemon zest and 1 pinch of salt to the boil in a saucepan. Stir in rice pudding. Cover the rice and let it swell at low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring from time to time.

    Stir the papaya into the rice pudding about 10 minutes before the end of cooking. Finally, stir in butter and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Remove the pan from the heat, remove the vanilla pod and lemon peel.

    Pour rice pudding into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Caramelise under the hot grill of the oven or with the gas burner.
