Gyros flat bread with ground pork, onions & cheese

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 250 g Pork sausage
  • 1 TABLESPOON Tomato paste
  • 1 TEASPOON dried thyme
  • 200 g strained tomatoes
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Gyros spice salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp "Sunday rolls", flour
  • 50 g shredded cheese
  • baking paper

Directions

    Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3). Peel and coarsely dice onions. Peel garlic and chop finely. Fry the ground pork in hot oil until crumbly

    Fry garlic, 3/4 onions, tomato paste and thyme briefly. Deglaze with strained tomatoes, bring to the boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Season to taste with gyros spice salt

    Line a baking tray with baking paper. Remove the dough from the tin according to the instructions on the packet. Roll out each piece of dough to a round shape (approx. 12 cm Ø) on a little flour and place it on a baking tray

    Spread the mince on the flat cakes and sprinkle cheese over them. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining onions. Sour Cream goes well with it
