Greek skewers in tomato sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 300 g Pork sausage
  • 300 g minced beef
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Breadcrumbs
  • 1 TEASPOON Greek spice mix or gyros spice
  • 7-10 Tbsp white pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 7-10 Tbsp some oregano and rosemary
  • 1 can(s) (850 ml) Tomatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp wooden skewers

Directions

    Peel and finely dice 1 onion and garlic. Knead with ground pork, minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, seasoning, pepper and a little salt. Form approx. 8 longish meatballs and put them on skewers. Put them on a greased fat pan and roast them in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for 40-45 minutes

    Clean, wash and roughly dice the zucchini. Peel and chop 1 onion. Wash and chop the herbs

    After approx. 15 minutes roasting time turn the skewers if necessary. Spread zucchini and onion around them. Pour tomatoes and juice into a bowl and chop. Stir in herbs. Season with salt, pepper and sugar

    After another 10 minutes, add the tomato sauce to the skewers and braise until done. Season the sauce to taste, arrange everything. Serve with roast potatoes or chips and tzatziki

    Drink: light red wine
