Wash the pods and boil in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes. Remove, rinse with cold water and cut in half lengthwise. Peel onions and cut into strips. Prepare gnocchi in boiling salted water according to package instructions.
Heat the oil in a small pan. Fry the onions and pods for about 2 minutes over a high heat. Stir the sauce powder into 500 ml of cold water with a whisk and bring to the boil. Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, add onions and pods and remove from heat.
Drain the gnocchi, drain and arrange in bowls with the sauce.
