Penne and cheese with broccoli

Ingredients

  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 500 g Broccoli
  • 300 g Penne (short noodles)
  • 1 washer Grey bread (from the previous day)
  • 100 g sliced boiled ham
  • 150 g Emmental
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 TABLESPOONS + some butter
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Flour
  • 1/2 l Milk
  • 3 TABLESPOONS crushed hazelnuts

Directions

    For the noodles, boil a good 3 l of salted water (approx. 1 teaspoon salt per litre). Clean the broccoli, divide into small florets and wash. Cook the pasta in boiling water according to package instructions. Add broccoli for the last 4 minutes.

    Crumble bread. Cut ham into fine strips. Grate cheese. Peel onion and chop finely.

    Heat 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Fry the onion until transparent. Dust with flour and sauté until light brown. Add milk while stirring, bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Melt cheese, except 4 tbsp.

    Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    Preheat oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/circulating air: 150 °C/gas: level 2). Grease four small or one large casserole dish. Drain the pasta and broccoli. Mix with ham and cheese sauce. Pour into the casserole dish.

    Sprinkle with nuts, bread and the remaining cheese. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter in flakes on top. Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes.
