Wash the kumquats and prick them several times with a stick. Boil the sugar in 1/4 litre of water and boil the kumquats in it for 10 minutes. Place the kumquats in a glass with the sugar solution and pistachios and fill up with the Cointreau. Leave to stand for 2-3 days. Shelf life approx. 4 weeks. For consumption, put some kumquats in a cocktail glass and fill up with sparkling wine
