Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Wine vinegar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 3 Cucumbers (approx. 400 g each)
  • 2 stem(s) Dill
  • 2 TABLESPOONS clotted cream
  • 1 TABLESPOON Fresh cream
  • 1 walnut-sized piece of ginger tuber
  • 1 small chili pepper
  • 3 Stem(s) Coriander
  • 3-4 Tbsp Lime juice
  • 3-4 Tbsp Olive oil

Directions

    For the classic salad, peel and finely dice the onion. Mix vinegar with salt, pepper and sugar. Fold in the oil. Peel a cucumber and cut into fine slices. Mix with the marinade, let it stand for at least 30 minutes, season again.

    Meanwhile, peel the cucumber for the creamy salad and cut it into fine slices. Season with salt, leave to stand for about 15 minutes, then drain. Wash and chop the dill. Mix sour cream, crème fraîche and dill. Season with pepper, fold in cucumber slices. For the slightly different salad, wash the cucumber and cut into fine slices. Peel ginger, dice very finely. Carve the chilli lengthwise, remove seeds and chop. Remove the coriander leaves. Mix prepared ingredients, lime juice, salt and sugar.
