Ingredients

  • 2 Onions
  • 1 TEASPOON + 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 l Tomato juice (bottle)
  • 2 TEASPOONS Chicken broth (instant)
  • 250 g Long grain rice
  • 5 Garlic cloves
  • 600 g minced beef
  • 1 TEASPOON sweet marjoram
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt and pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 TEASPOON Sweet peppers
  • 150 g frozen peas

Directions

    Peel the onions. Chop 1 onion finely. Heat 1 tsp. oil in a pot. Sauté diced onions in it. Add tomato juice and 1/4 l water, bring to the boil. Stir in stock and rice. Cover and simmer for 30-35 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is soft.

    Meanwhile peel and finely chop the garlic. Chop the rest of the onion as well. Add half the garlic and marjoram to the minced onion and knead everything together. Season with salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon paprika. Form approx. 20 cevapcici (small rolls; approx. 3 cm Ø; 5-6 cm long) from the minced mass.

    Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan. Fry the cevapcici for 5-6 minutes in 2 portions. Warm the finished rolls in a hot oven.

    Add the rest of the garlic and frozen peas to the rice and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Arrange everything.
