Ingredients

  • 1 Roast chicken (approx. 1 kg)
  • 100 g Shallots
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 250 g Mushrooms
  • 375 g Tomatoes
  • 1 potty Basil and
  • 7-10 Tbsp Marjoram
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • 200 ml Wine vinegar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 7-10 Tbsp fresh herbs

Directions

    Cut the chicken into 6 pieces, wash and pat dry. Peel shallots and garlic. Press garlic through a garlic press. Clean, wash and halve the mushrooms. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices.

    Wash and chop the herbs. Melt sugar in a pan until golden brown. Add shallots and deglaze with vinegar. Add mushrooms and tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, bay leaf, garlic and herbs. Cook everything for about 5 minutes at high heat. Pour into an ovenproof dish. Add chicken pieces. Pour on 1/2 litre of water and season with salt and pepper.

Braise in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 40 minutes. Season again and serve garnished with fresh herbs
