Ingredients

Servings: 2
  • 1 medium size tomato
  • 60 g Mozzarella cheese
  • 1-2 stem(s) fresh or 1 tsp frozen basil
  • 4 discs Toast
  • 2-4 discs Salami
  • 1 (50 ml) egg, 4-5 tablespoons milk
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, white pepper
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp some salad leaves
  • 7-10 Tbsp little wooden skewers

Directions

  1. 1

Wash the tomato, drain the mozzarella. Cut both into thin slices. Wash the basil. Peel the leaves, put some aside for garnishing

  2. 2

Cover 2 slices of toast with tomato, mozzarella, basil and salami, leaving about 1 cm of edge all around. Cover each with 1 slice of toast, press the edges together, pin if necessary

  3. 3

Whisk egg and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large coated pan. Turn the sandwiches in the egg milk and fry directly in the hot oil until golden brown on each side

  4. 4

In the meantime clean and wash the salad and divide it between 2 plates. Halve the sandwiches diagonally and arrange them on the salad. Garnish with remaining basil

  5. 5

You can also roast the pizza sandwiches in a sandwich toaster until crispy brown - then of course without egg milk
