Wash, stalk and stone the cherries. Put sugar and cherries in a pot. Simmer over medium heat while stirring for 10-15 minutes until the sugar has melted and cherry juice has formed. Then simmer for 10-12 minutes until syrupy.
Stir in lime juice, amaretto and aromas. Simmer again for another 10 minutes. Fill the cherries with syrup into clean twist-off glasses and close them. Store in a cool and dark place. Tastes great with vanilla ice cream or sweet creams.
