Ingredients

  • 1 kg Flour
  • 2 packages Dry yeast
  • 1 TEASPOON Salt
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • 2 packages Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 120 g Butter or margarine
  • 550 ml Milk
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Raisins, almond sticks, peeled whole almonds and flaked almonds

Directions

    Mix flour, yeast, salt, sugar, vanillin sugar and lemon zest in a bowl. Melt the fat. Add milk (up to one tablespoon) and warm it up lukewarm. Add milk-fat mixture and 1 egg to the flour mixture. Mix everything with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough.

    Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Knead the dough again on a floured work surface and divide into six pieces. Remove a third of each piece and form head and arms. Form the remaining dough into six ovals. Cut them lengthwise to the middle and form legs. Separate the rest of the egg. Use the egg white to stick the head and arms together. Whisk the egg yolk with the rest of the milk and brush the figures with it. Decorate with raisins and almonds.

Place on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake the trays one after the other in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 15 minutes
