Beat the egg whites with the whisk of the hand mixer until stiff, gradually adding salt and icing sugar. Fold in grated coconut and 1 tablespoon of vodka. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread wafers on top.
Use a small ice-cream scoop (4 cm Ø) to cut out 30 hemispheres and place them on the wafers. Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 1) on the lower rack for 25-30 minutes.
Place on a grid and allow to cool. Heat the glaze in a water bath. Pour into a bowl and stir in the remaining vodka. Dip snowballs into the glaze, drain on a grid and sprinkle with sugar crystals.
Let it set.
