  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 300 g lean bacon
  • 50 g Edam cheese
  • 2 Eggs
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated nutmeg
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

  1. 1

Clean, wash and peel the kohlrabi. Wash and finely chop the tender kohlrabi leaves. Cook the kohlrabi in boiling salted water for 20 minutes. Drain and let cool. Carefully raise the kohlrabi with a teaspoon (up to a 1 cm wide rim).

Finely chop the hollowed kohlrabi meat. Cut the ham into small cubes and grate the cheese finely. Separate the eggs. Mix egg yolk, kohlrabi meat, finely chopped kohlrabi leaves, half the diced ham and cheese well. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Beat the egg whites until very stiff and fold into the ham filling. Pour the mixture into the kohlrabi. Grease an ovenproof dish and put the kohlrabi in it. Add the rest of the ham cubes and cover the form and cook in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle kohlrabi with the remaining cheese and bake for another 10 minutes covered and crispy.
