Steak and potato pan \"Texas style\"

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1-1.2 kg new potatoes
  • 300 g Beef or joint steak and pork cutlet
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chilli powder
  • 1 baby onion
  • 1 Sweet pepper (e.g. red)
  • 200 g Sour cream or crème fraîche
  • 100 g Gouda cheese
  • 2 Spring onions

Directions

    Clean the potatoes thoroughly with a brush, dab dry, cut into quarters. Wash, dab dry and dice the meat if necessary

    Heat the oil in a large ovenproof pan or roasting pan. Brown the meat in it in portions. Season with salt and pepper and remove. Fry the potatoes in the frying fat at medium heat for 15-20 minutes until golden brown

    Peel and chop the onion. Clean, wash and chop the peppers. Add both to the potatoes about 5 minutes before the end of the frying time. Season with salt, pepper and chilli powder. Add the meat and heat it up

    Season the sour cream and spread it over the potatoes. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it over the potatoes. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C / convection oven: 200 °C / gas: level 4) for approx. 10 minutes. Or let the cheese melt in a covered pan

    Clean, wash and finely chop the spring onions. Sprinkle over the potatoes
