Ingredients

Servings: 8
  • 1 kg Pork escalope
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Oil (e.g. olive oil)
  • 1 TABLESPOON Gyros spice salt
  • 200-250 g Whipped cream
  • 2 Onions
  • 4 large peppers (e.g. green, yellow and red)
  • 1 TABLESPOON butter/margarine
  • 1 Bag of onion soup "gourmet style
  • 8 TABLESPOONS Gypsy or chili sauce
  • 100 g Cream processed cheese
  • 1/2 TEASPOON dried thyme
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, white pepper

Directions

    Wash the meat and pat dry. Cut into fine strips. Peel and chop the garlic. Mix both with oil and gyros spice salt. Cover and chill for 2-3 hours.

    Fry the meat in the seasoning oil in portions for about 10 minutes. Turn from time to time. Cool down. Pour cream over it. Cover the gyros and chill them overnight.

    Peel onions and cut them into rings. Clean, wash and cut the peppers into strips. Heat the fat in a large saucepan. Brown the onions and the paprika. Deglaze with about 1 1/2 -2 l water. Bring to the boil, stir in soup powder. Stir in sauce, cheese and thyme. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add gyros. Boil everything well, season to taste.
