Spaghetti in tomato-bacon sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 medium onion
  • 500 g Broccoli
  • 400 g Spaghetti
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 100 g diced streaky bacon (e.g. Bacon Bits)
  • 1 can(s) (425 ml) Tomatoes
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 1 TEASPOON dried basil
  • 1-2 TEASPOONS Chili Flakes

Directions

    Boil up plenty of salted water. Peel and chop garlic and onion. Clean and wash the broccoli and cut into florets. Cut the florets into slices.

    Steam broccoli in a little boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes and drain. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes until al dente.

    Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and fry the bacon until crispy. Take out. Fry onion and garlic in the frying fat until transparent. Chop the tomatoes and add them together with juice, tomato paste, 1/8 l water and basil.

    Season with salt and pepper. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.

    Add bacon and broccoli to the sauce and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, sugar and chili flakes. Drain the pasta, put it back into the pot and mix with the tomato-bacon sauce.

    Dress everything.
