Peel and finely chop the onion. Leave the bacon in a pan and take it out. Heat the oil in the pan, crumble the minced meat into it and fry vigorously while turning. Add onion and marjoram and fry briefly. Mix in the bacon. Season with salt and pepper
Bring the stock and cream to the boil in a saucepan. Layer the spaetzle and minced meat in an ovenproof dish. Pour hot broth-cream mixture over it, sprinkle with cheese and fried onions. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/ convection oven: 200 °C/ gas: level 4) for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, garnish with marjoram
