Sauerkraut with ham

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 375 g lean cooked ham
  • 2 tablespoons (10 g each) Oil
  • 3 (40 g each) Onions
  • 1 kg Sauerkraut
  • 1/4 l clear broth (instant)
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 4 Juniper berries
  • 500 g Potatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp white pepper
  • 1 collar Parsley

Directions

    Cut the ham into strips. Heat oil and fry ham in it. Remove and keep warm. Peel and chop the onions and fry them in the frying fat until transparent. Add sauerkraut. Add stock, bay leaf and juniper berries and steam for about 30 minutes.

    Peel the potatoes and cook in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes. Add ham strips to the sauerkraut and heat briefly. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Drain the potatoes. Chop parsley and sprinkle on top.
